I grew up as an Air Force "brat" and am originally from Biloxi, Mississippi. I lived in Georgia, and Louisiana, and some other states briefly before moving with my family to Illinois in 1992.
In 2000, at the age of 20, I moved to Indiana and soon after began studying and practicing massage therapy. I enjoyed the program of study and giving massages came naturally to me. I like that massage can help people feel better instantly and improve their health in the long term as well.
Studying massage also helped me to improve my own health and become more aware of natural ways of alleviating pain and stress. Over the years I have learned to "center" and use massage as an outlet for creative expression. Massage feels like dancing to me because the flowing movements can give each person a wonderful, positive energy.
I consider myself to always be a student and have enjoyed learning new ways that I can help people while at the same time challenging myself. My current endeavors include a clinical aromatherapy program through the Aroma Apothecary Healing Arts Academy, certification in the Ingham method of reflexology, and preparing to enter training in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. Massage is something I am passionate about and will always enjoy doing.
I have 3 children--all boys--ages 5, 3, and 1 who also keep me very busy. I like to say that I go to "work" to relax because the real "work" is at home. In our free time we enjoy visits to places like the Magic House, Missouri Botanical Gardens, and the St. Louis Zoo. In my own time I enjoy studying, listening to music, exercising, and getting outdoors.
